Role Overview
We are seeking a patient, reliable tutor who can work on-site every Monday and Wednesday from 4–6 PM to support a 7th-grade student needing help with writing, reading comprehension, and math fundamentals. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy helping middle school students strengthen foundational academic skills.
Student Needs
The student needs focused support in:
- Writing mechanics (sentence structure, grammar, punctuation)
- Spelling, clarity, and forming complete ideas
- Reading fluency and comprehension
- General 7th-grade math reinforcement
Responsibilities
- Provide in-person tutoring in writing, reading comprehension, and math
- Model and teach writing structure, grammar, and sentence-building
- Implement guided reading strategies for comprehension
- Adapt lessons for remediation and differentiated instruction
- Track progress and collaborate with Creative Minds staff
- Help build confidence, motivation, and academic independence
Qualifications
- College student or recent graduate (Education, English, Math, Psychology preferred; all majors welcome)
- Strong grasp of writing fundamentals and middle school literacy
- Comfortable tutoring 7th-grade math
- Patient, encouraging, and skilled at breaking down concepts
- Must be reliable and available Mondays & Wednesdays from 4–6 PM
- Previous tutoring experience is helpful but not required
Pay & Benefits
- $25-30/hour starting pay
