Position Summary

The Facilities Manager oversees the daily operations, maintenance, safety, and security of all church buildings and grounds. This role ensures that all physical facilities are safe, clean, functional, and well-maintained to support ministry operations and worship services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage maintenance and repair of all church buildings and essential systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and security.
  • Supervise custodial and maintenance staff including scheduling, training, and performance oversight.
  • Coordinate setup and breakdown for services, meetings, weddings, funerals, and events.
  • Develop and manage the facilities budget and monitor expenditures.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors, obtain bids, negotiate contracts, and oversee quality of work.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal safety regulations including OSHA and TOSHA.
  • Develop and implement emergency preparedness, fire safety, and building security protocols.
  • Oversee grounds maintenance including landscaping, parking lots, walkways, snow removal, and seasonal care.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.
  • Attend required safety and compliance meetings as designated.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Work Environment

This role operates in both indoor and outdoor environments and requires availability during evenings, weekends, and emergencies in support of continuous ministry operations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; degree in facilities management or related field preferred.
  • Three to five years of experience in facilities management, maintenance, or related field.
  • Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and building systems.
  • Strong leadership, vendor management, budgeting, and communication skills.
  • Relevant facilities or HVAC certifications preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical duties.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
