SUMMARY
The Director of Operations will partner with executive leadership to build a predictable, accountable, and scalable operating system across CMP and TFC. This leader will strengthen production execution, planning, customer service, margins, team development to improve customer confidence, profitability, and readiness for future growth. Further, the Director of Operations will assist in multifaceted and cross functional efforts to implement new vertical integration solutions that are transformative in our service offerings/capabilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coach, mentor, and develop teams to succeed, grow, and remain engaged with an emphasis on retention of current team members while also recruiting, interviewing, hiring of management/supervisory-level staff.
- Ensure departmental decisions and plans such as those for staffing, development, organization, safety, materials, and facilities are in line with the organization’s business plan and vision.
- Use data to understand key costs and margin drivers by customer, part, and work center, and help develop strategies that reduce labor and material costs while improving profitability. Further, assist in finishing implementation of a real-time job costing system related to labor and materials.
- Extensive knowledge of the principles, procedures, and best practices of cellular versus batch manufacturing, pull systems and quick response manufacturing.
- In connection with executive leadership team, maintain current metrics and dashboards to track KPI’s such as on-time delivery while also implementing leading indicators such as work queue reduction, schedule adherence, work center capacity plans, predictable production plans, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness.
- Assist in analyzing TFC’s core competencies with the goal of positioning TFC to be prepared to rapidly grow in paint and assembly while divesting/transferring non-future core competencies.
- Support the company’s procurement and material utilization strategy focusing on availability, cost, efficiency, and effective coordination between procurement / inventory and production teams.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Apply strong business and problem-solving skills to develop practical solutions and support continuous improvement initiatives across departments.
- Identify, recommend, and implement new processes, technologies, and systems to improve efficiency, quality, and communication across both business operations.
- Coordinate and help execute physical inventory at both facilities twice per year.
- Contribute to accelerating standardized business processes, including ISO 9001 implementation and UL Certification at Tube Fabrication & Color.
- Reinforce and aid adoption of Continuous Improvement Manager’s role of training/development and application of lean tools such as scoreboards, 5S, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and WIP reduction.
REQUIRED SKILLSETS

- Expertise in implementing and monitoring plant level key performance indicators.
- Excellent organization, attention to detail and follow through to completion of objectives required.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Demonstrated ability to align and energize teams around growth-oriented goals.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business Management, Operations, or related field preferred
- Lean Six-Sigma Green Belt or equivalent experience, Black Belt a plus.
- Experience with data driven tools such as Power BI and/or Artificial Intelligence is a strong advantage.
- At least 10 years of industry-related experience including three years in upper management required.
