Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Infant teacher to join our early childhood education team. The ideal candidate will create a nurturing, engaging, and educational environment for young children, fostering their social, emotional, and cognitive development. This role requires a strong understanding of childhood development principles and the ability to manage a classroom effectively. Experience working with children in daycare or preschool settings is essential, along with a passion for early childhood education and caregiving.
Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that promote learning through play and exploration
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment that encourages children's curiosity and independence
- Monitor and assess each child's developmental progress, providing support tailored to individual needs
- Manage classroom behavior using positive behavior management techniques
- Assist with daily routines such as meal times, nap times, diapering (for infants/toddlers), and outdoor activities
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding children's progress and any concerns
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including first aid procedures when necessary
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan activities and maintain a cohesive educational approach
- Support children with special needs or disabilities by adapting activities and providing appropriate care
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in preschool, daycare, or childcare settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of childhood development theories and practices
- Experience with classroom management and behavior guidance strategies
- Familiarity with special education practices and working with children with disabilities is a plus
- Certification in first aid and CPR is desirable but not mandatory; willingness to obtain certification is expected
- Previous nannying, babysitting, or caregiving experience involving infants or toddlers is beneficial
- Demonstrated ability to engage children through nurturing care, teaching, and play-based learning
