Duties
- Assist lead teachers in implementing lesson plans that focus on literacy, math, and early childhood development principles.
- Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and helping children develop social skills through engaging activities.
- Provide individualized attention to children with diverse needs, including those with disabilities or autism, ensuring inclusive participation in classroom activities.
- Help organize classroom materials, prepare learning centers, and facilitate hands-on activities aligned with curriculum goals such as Montessori or preschool standards.
- Monitor children’s progress and communicate observations to teachers to support tailored instructional strategies.
- Support daily routines including snack time, bathroom breaks, nap times, and outdoor play to promote a safe and nurturing environment.
- Collaborate with teachers on curriculum development efforts to enhance literacy education, math readiness, and overall classroom experience.
Qualifications
- Hold or must be eligible to hold a Georgia Paraprofessional certificate.
- Prior experience working with young children in preschool or daycare settings is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of early childhood education practices, including childhood development theories and behavior management techniques.
- Familiarity with special education strategies and working with individuals with disabilities or autism is a plus.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with teachers, parents, and students.
- Ability to adapt lesson plans for diverse learners and implement curriculum components such as literacy education and math activities.
- Experience with classroom management tools and techniques to foster a positive learning environment.
- Certification or coursework in early childhood education or related fields is advantageous but not mandatory; enthusiasm for ongoing professional development is encouraged.
