Epic Referral Orders Consultant – Remote

Role and Responsibilities
Purpose of the Consulting Engagement : To perform a review of our Epic build and workflows for appointment scheduling, Provider InBasket notifications, and prior authorizations for internal and external referral order requests. Present suggested build and workflow changes to the Epic team and IT leaders based on the data supporting these changes from the review of the current build, specific findings and results, including statistical reports, along with proven results from Epic clients recognized for successful referral / referral order management. Final product is an executive ready PowerPoint of the findings, recommendations and PI opportunities presented to members of UConn Health’s Sr. Leadership and Management team.
Specific qualifications needed : Expertise & / or certification in Epic Cadence, Referrals, EC Link and CERM is required along with experience leading internal and external referral orders improvement projects for Epic Clients. A strong knowledge of Hyland’s OnBase DMS and Epic Ambulatory Care is preferred.
Minimum Qualification
Responsibilities : Work independently and with our Epic analysts and operations stakeholders as needed to determine if our build and workflows are consistent with other Epic organizations for internal and external referral orders. Identify changes required for the Epic build and operational workflows used by other Epic organizations with proven outcomes for referral order management. The recommended changes should include specific workflows for electronic referral orders, including required data along with highlighting if there are different needs / results for centralized vs. decentralized operational referral / referral order management.
