What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Mental Health Professional position at Creative Home Care Solutions?
To provide behavior support services to children and adolescents with emotional and behavioral disturbances by engaging them in weekly skills training services as well as other duties as assigned by Qualified Professional when deemed appropriate.
Our associate professional will follow a strength-based model that will help develop and build skills that will help child and adolescent function successfully.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- High School Diploma or Associate Professional (AP) within the mental health, development disabilities and substances abuse services (MH/DD/SAS)
- An individual who is graduate of a college or university with associate degree in a field other than human services with less than two years of full-time
- Post-bachelor's degree accumulated MH/DD/SAS experience with the population served
- Substance abuse professional with less than four years experience of full-time
- Post-bachelor's degree supervised experience in alcoholism and drug abuse counseling.
- Supervision shall be provided by qualified professional with the population served until the individual meets four years of experience. The supervisor and the employee shall develop an individualized supervision plan upon hiring. The parties shall review the plan quarterly.
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
DRIVER'S LICENSE ( North Carolina)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT, AND OTHE FACTORS:
- General understanding of behavioral patterns and attitudes common in varying degress with children and adolescents in the MH/SA population and if applicable DD population.
- Ability to deal patiently effective and fairly with staff, consumers, qand families, and the others
- Ability to maintain effective and efficient working relationships and present an atmosphere of teamwork
- Regular and predictable job attendance
- Consistently aware of health and safety needs for all staff and consumers
- Demonstrate good oral, written, and documentation skills
- Demonstrate knowledge of State and Medicaid requirements as they relate to the provision of residential treatment services.
