Masseria by Nicholas Stefanelli a critically acclaimed, Southern Italian, fine dining restaurant in the Union Market District of Washington D.C. Preferred Qualifications

*Minimum 3 years within the wine industry (restaurants, retail, or production)

*Professional certifications from Court of Master Sommeliers, Wine & Spirits Education Trust, or Society of Wine Educators.

*Advanced knowledge of Italian wines and regions

*Proficiency in using Microsoft Office, accounting software, and POS system(s)

*Maintain a positive and professional attitude with the team(s)

*Contribute to weekly staff education meetings  

*Facilitate good communication with guests and all other necessary parties

*Learn and develop customer service skills

Key Responsibilities

*Oversee and assist the entire front of the house team with all aspects of service 

*Navigating an extensive wine list with over 1300 selections, centered around Italy and Burgundy.

*Assisting with monthly inventory

*Assisting with daily ordering, restocking, and organizing wine cellar

*Promoting and executing monthly wine dinners and educational events for the public 

Physical Requirements

*Ability to stand/walk for extended periods 

*Ability to lift over 50lbs occasionally
