Job Description
This is an in-house role that supports a diverse portfolio of small and medium businesses, primarily in the Columbus area. As a Cloud Infrastructure Specialist, you will be responsible for architecting and implementing advanced technologies, including M365 solutions, fiber internet, and data center networking.
The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise, a passion for continuous improvement, and a proactive approach to identifying and implementing emerging technologies to enhance service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the technical expert for internal systems and client environments.
- Collaborate with support staff and clients on projects, providing detailed documentation and ticket updates.
- Lead the technical aspects of onboarding new clients, including solution architecture and implementation.
- Manage core infrastructure such as data centers, fiber networks, PBX servers, and virtual machine environments.
- Develop processes to improve team coordination and operational efficiency.
- Provide leadership through training, mentorship, and collaboration without requiring direct HR management responsibilities.
- Assist in ticket escalation and incident management.
- Stay informed about emerging technologies to evolve services and protocols.
Technical Skills and Expertise:
- Expertise in fiber optics (network configuration), M365 administration, and virtualization (VMware, Proxmox, Windows Server).
- Proficient in TCP/IP, DNS, routers, firewalls (Arista, Ubiquiti, Meraki, Mikrotik), and networking hardware (switches, patch panels, hubs).
- Experience with BCDR tools (Acronis, Datto) and wireless technologies.
- Strong knowledge of Apple device management, telecommunications, and PBX systems.
- Familiarity with Ubiquiti products and MSP environments is a significant plus.
