What You'll Do As The Accounting Manager
- Review Key Accounting Functions (50%)
- Review bank reconciliations, fixed asset listings, capitalization/disposals, and general ledger reconciliations.
- Ensure accuracy in accrued expenses and promotional allowances related to sales to distribution partners.
- Payroll & Journal Entry Review (15%)
- Oversee bi-weekly payroll entries and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Monthly P&L and Financial Review (25%)
- Perform critical analysis of P&L, identify reclass opportunities, and ensure financial statements accurately reflect operations.
- Staff Support & Process Improvement (10%)
- Provide coaching, accounting concept training, and support for staff.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to streamline close activities.
- Strong foundation in core accounting principles, reconciliations, and tie-outs.
- Manufacturing and inventory accounting experience is a must.
- Proficiency in SAP (or other large ERP systems).
- Solid Excel skills (comfortable with VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, SUMIFs, and writing/reviewing complex formulas).
- A positive, collaborative attitude — someone who can help foster continuous improvement and coach staff with kindness but firmness on deadlines.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar preferred.
- SQL database familiarity.
- Experience working with public financials and preparing supporting schedules for SEC reporting or public company standards.
