Corporate Accountant

Accountant Opening for a Corporate Accountant. Will work directly with current accountant and with CPA/owner. For the right canidate hours may have some flexibilty. Position involves multiple businesses and accounting office is in Beckley, WV. Businesses consist of large Charlotte wholesale company selling stone products, a Charlotte based stone installation company and a Beckley based residential contractor. Candidate should exhibit attention to detail, be hard working and self motivated. Accounting knowledge is a must and experience is a plus. Sage 100 or other software system experience is helpful. Should be a fast learner, able to adapt quickly to change, and have strong communication skills. Experience using Microsoft Excel and Word a positive. Other relevant Skills and Knowledge: * Understanding of accounting best practices, * Data entry skills, * High attention to detail, * Organizational skills, * At least one-years’ experience or appropriate training and education, Duties: * Recording and maintaining an accurate record of financial transactions, * Accounts payable including purchases, expenses, invoices, and payments, * Recording of accounts receivable including revenue accounting and deposits. * Reconciling and maintain general ledger activities. * Job cost * Account reconciliation to assert the accuracy of transactions, * Use of knowledge of laws to comply with reporting requirements, * Other duties needed to produce company monthly balance sheets and income statements. * A complete detail of all duties will be provided. Compensation is negotiable and is based upon canidates experience and knowledge.
