Cook/Food Service

Creative expressions Learning Center is looking for a cook to join our team. We are located at 530 S.W. 80^th St., Oklahoma City, OK. Our ideal candidate will have experience with Child Nutrition Program and be reliable. This position requires basic math skills. Pay is dependent on experience and reliability. This position is an opening shift. 7:00am – 3:00pm, Mon - Fri.

Position Summary: This position is responsible for the receiving, safeguarding, preparing, cooking, serving and cleanup of food and non-food supplies.

Essential Duties:

• Prepares and serves food and beverages in accord with all federal, state, local and CACFP policies.
• Maintains clean and safe work environment, practices overall safety and sanitation according to local, state and federal guidelines.
• Cleans and sanitizes the kitchen space, and all equipment.
• Keeps accurate records of food served daily. Performs clerical and record keeping responsibilities including menu planning and inventories.
• Attend training courses as appropriate for continuous development of skills and successfully complete training certifications will be expected.
• Maintains consistent and punctual attendance.
• Maintains neat, uniform appearance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities Required:

• A high school diploma or GED preferred.
• Basic arithmetic skills
• Food Handling Certification from an accredited agency

Responsibilities

• Regularly required to stand and use hands for repetitive actions involving simple/firm grasping and fine manipulation to find, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
• Frequently walks, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear, and taste or smell. Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, squat, crouch, or crawl.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds, 50 pounds frequently with assistance.
