Tumbling Instructor

Overview

We are seeking an energetic, experienced, and reliable Tumbling Instructor to join our dance studio team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about working with children and youth, have a strong background in tumbling and gymnastics fundamentals, and be committed to creating a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment.

Duties

• Plan and instruct tumbling classes for various age groups and skill levels (beginner to advanced)
• Teach proper technique, strength-building exercises, and flexibility training
• Ensure student safety by enforcing proper warm-ups, spotting techniques, and use of equipment
• Develop progressive lesson plans that align with student growth and studio goals
• Provide constructive feedback and encouragement to students
• Collaborate with studio staff to support recitals, performances, and special events
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe training environment
• Must be able to perform light lifting, that includes but is not limited to, rolling up and placement of mats.

Qualifications

• Prior experience teaching tumbling, gymnastics, or acrobatics (required)
• Knowledge of proper technique, progressions, and injury prevention
• Experience working with children in a structured setting
• Strong communication and classroom management skills
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented

Preferred Skills:

• Background in dance, cheer, or competitive gymnastics
• Experience choreographing Acro/Tumbling routines for performances
• Ability to work with diverse age groups and skill levels

Schedule:

• Evening and/or weekend availability required
• Flexible scheduling based on class enrollment
• Approximately 3 hours per week, one day per week. Additional rehearsal, performance, and event opportunities may be available throughout the season.
