What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dance Teacher position at Creative Edge Dance Studio LLC?
Job Summary
Dance studio in Oak Ridge is looking to add to our staff of instructors for our 2026-27 season, which will begin in August. We are currently in need of instructors with background and experience in tap, jazz, and ballet with younger dancers, ballet at the Pre-pointe level (10/11 years old), lyrical, and cheer.
Duties
- Develop comprehensive dance curriculum tailored to different age groups and skill levels in ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, and/or cheer
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a safe, respectful, and motivating environment for all students
- Plan and execute lesson plans that align with educational standards and individual student needs
- Provide constructive feedback to help students improve their technique and confidence in dancing
- Choreograph pieces for a Christmas and a spring recital
- Collaborate with parents, caregivers, or educators to track student development and address individual learning goals
Qualifications
- Proven experience in teaching dance styles such as ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, and/or cheer
- Strong background in working with children
- Ability to foster a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages creativity and discipline
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques and early childhood education practices
- Experience in mentoring students of diverse backgrounds and skill levels
- Excellent communication skills to engage students effectively and collaborate with parents or colleagues
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 4.0 – 10.0 per week
