PM Cook - MBU campus dining

Creative Dining Services is looking for a friendly, knowledgeable Cook with some exhibition-style skills to join our dining services team at Missouri Baptist University in St. Louis, MO. 

The Cook role works as a valued team member of the dining services department - ensuring that high quality, properly seasoned, nutritious food is being provided throughout the operation in a fiscally responsible and safe manner, and will be expected to work cooperatively with the rest of the dining services team, assisting with any aspect of the dining services program necessary. 

This role will require afternoon/evening availability: shifts will be Monday-Friday from 2:00pm to 8:30pm, and will be focused on operating our Chef's Corner, dinner prep and service, and assisting in closing the kitchen after each shift. We serve meals in a college cafeteria setting 7 days a week - some weekends may be necessary.

The Ideal Candidate will have:

• Knowledge of proper food safety, food handling, storage and service techniques
• Excellent customer service skills
• Action-station or exhibition-style cooking experience or comfortable cooking in front of the guests
• Familiarity with batch cooking techniques and time management to avoid over/under production
• Prior foodservice experience, at least 2 years preferred
• High School Diploma or equivalent - preferred but not require
• ServSafe certification - optional
