Creative Data Inc. is seeking an automotive Packaging Engineer to support packaging specification development, service part packaging system management, one-off special project requests, concealed damage claim reduction, and part packaging reviews. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent data analysis skills, and the ability to work with outside packaging and packaging material suppliers.
Responsibilities:
- Learn and manage the internal packaging system and processes
- Review automotive parts and determine appropriate packaging requirements based on pre-defined standards
- Receive, evaluate, and manage one-off packaging project requests
- Support packaging design, testing, and implementation processes
- Review damage claims data to support damage reduction initiatives
- Conduct root cause analysis for packaging failures and damaged parts
- Work with packaging suppliers, packaging material suppliers, and dealers to resolve packaging concerns
- Maintain project trackers
- Perform packaging reviews to support cost-saving opportunities
Required Qualifications:
- Background or experience in packaging engineering, preferably in the automotive service parts industry
- Understanding of packaging materials, expendable packaging, dunnage, labeling, and shipping requirements
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, analysis, and reporting
- Ability to review large sets of data and identify concerning trends or issues
- Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and report out routinely
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Comfortable working with cross-functional teams and external suppliers
Work Locations and Hours:
- Work locations alternate between Livonia, Monroe, and Dearborn, MI
- 40 hours per week
- Flexible daily work schedule
Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
