Assistant Director – Child Care Center (2 Years Experience Required)

Creative Corner Child Care Center is seeking an experienced, reliable, and motivated Assistant Director to join our leadership team. This position plays a key role in supporting daily operations, mentoring staff, building strong family relationships, and maintaining a high-quality early childhood program.
This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership skills who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about early childhood education.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the Center Director with daily operations and center management
- Help supervise, coach, and develop teaching staff
- Ensure classrooms maintain developmentally appropriate practices and engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with families, staff, and licensing authorities
- Assist with enrollment goals and administrative tasks
- Step into classrooms as needed to maintain ratios and support staff
- Help manage staffing, scheduling, and classroom coverage
- Maintain a safe, organized, and nurturing environment throughout the center
Required Qualifications (Must Meet All)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a licensed child care or early childhood education setting
- High School Diploma or GED (required)
- Strong reliability, punctuality, and professionalism
- Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking skills
- Willingness to work in classrooms as needed and support all areas of the center
- Ability to meet Tennessee state licensing requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a child care setting
- CPR & First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 45 pounds
- Ability to bend, sit, and engage at children’s level
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors
- Ability to see and hear clearly to ensure child safety
- Ability to walk up and down steps
- Basic computer proficiency
Schedule
- Approx 30-40hrs
- Monday–Friday
- Must be flexible to meet staffing and operational needs
