Position Summary:

The Scheduling Manager is responsible for developing, maintaining, and overseeing project schedules for large-scale commercial construction projects. This role ensures projects are efficiently planned, progress is tracked accurately, and deadlines are achieved. Key Responsibilities:

  • Set company-wide scheduling standards, templates, and best practices across all projects.
  • Review, approve, and quality-check schedules before they're submitted to owners.
  • Collaborate with Preconstruction and Project Management teams during planning and bidding phases to develop early-phase and conceptual schedules.
  • Monitor, update, and maintain project schedules regularly, incorporating field reports, progress data, and adjustments as required.
  • Analyze the Critical Path Method (CPM) and key milestones to identify and address potential schedule risks or delays.
  • Visit project sites, as needed, to coordinate with project teams and gather schedule updates.
  • Mentor project teams on reading and using schedules.
  • Ensure all project schedules reflect contractual requirements, phasing, sequencing, and resource loading.
  • Provide detailed schedule reports, including look-aheads, delay analyses, and recovery plans.
  • Develop Time impact analyses (TIAs) to support change orders and time extensions.
  • Assist project teams in recovery planning and suggest mitigation strategies for schedule impacts.
  • Lead pull planning sessions with project teams, as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Minimum 5 years of commercial construction scheduling experience.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6. Proficiency in Microsoft Project and Planera software is a plus but not required.
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction sequencing, means, and methods.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents and specifications.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Experience with delay analysis and recovery scheduling.
  • Commercial project experience in sectors such as healthcare, education, office buildings, parking structures, municipal projects, recreation centers, and cultural facilities.
