Schedule and Pay
We are open 7:30am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday. Currently, we are looking for someone to work 9-5 shifts. We provide midday paid lunches. Starting pay is 21/hr (salaried approximately 43k per year), and we provide at least yearly raises to staff, generally in the spring.
Skills
Play: We believe that everyone has different strengths when it comes to engaging children, especially around play times, and we want you to utilize your strengths as an educator. For example, if you are passionate about art, music, some form of exercise or movement, or even just really good at make believe, then these are all skills that will transfer well to our environment! Playing well alongside children and meeting them where they are at are highly desired skills.
Communication: Strong interpersonal skills are a must--you will be working as an equal partner with our provider, although she has final say and responsibility over the environment. We work closely with parents to ensure the safety and wellbeing of their children, and consider our educators, parents, and children to be a part of a diverse community.
Flexibility: Early childhood education requires a great deal of patience and care, especially because kids' situations can change on a dime. There may be update texts after work hours regarding children or educator scheduling, and willingness to switch shifts with other educators (such as working 8-4 rather than 9 to 5) is greatly appreciated, but not required. Our goal as a business is to enable our educators to lead healthy, balanced lives so they can provide excellent care to our students!
