Multidisciplinary Designer (Retail)

Our client, a national home decor retailer is currently seeking a Multidisciplinary Designer for an opportunity to support a fast-paced, multi-brand retail and e-commerce environment.

This position starts in a contract capacity, and will continue (40hrs/week) with the intention to convert to a full-time, salaried position with comprehensive benefits. This hybrid role requires partial onsite work in the Salt Lake City, UT area.

The ideal Designer brings retail experience working closely with art and creative directors to translate briefs into multichannel creative assets across web, social, email, in-store, paid media, video, and more.

Designer Responsibilities:

• Design assets across a range of digital and traditional channels - web, social, email, marketplace platforms, in-store, paid media, etc.
• Leverage generative AI tools daily (Adobe Firefly, Midjourney, Runway or similar) to create and extend images and video: lifestyle scenes, backgrounds, seasonal and regional variations, and short motion pieces
• Work in Figma as your primary design platform, using and extending shared templates, components and brand design systems
• Own email design for CRM team, including versions for segments, tests, SMS and digital coupons
• Create site and marketplace creative for multiple brands, including homepage and category takeovers, product-page content, and promotional assets
• Design in-store signage, endcaps and store-opening materials
• Partner with the social and media teams to create paid-social content, display assets, and short-form video and motion

Designer Requirements:

• 3 years of graphic design experience in retail, e-commerce or consumer brands, in-house or agency environments
  A portfolio that shows range across digital, social and promotional work, including work created or extended with generative AI
• Strong Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud skills
• Hands-on experience with generative AI image and video tools, including prompting and compositing AI output with photography
• Good typography, layout and color skills, with speed and accuracy on high-volume promotional work
• Experience working with multiple brand identities and taking direction and feedback well
• Organized, reliable and collaborative; Workfront or similar proofing tool experience is a plus.

Nice to Have:

• Home, decor, organization or lifestyle retail experience
• Motion design and video editing (After Effects, Premiere or AI video tools)
• Email production knowledge (HTML/CSS basics, Salesforce Marketing Cloud)
• Experience designing for e-commerce marketplaces
