Overview of the Role

Our leading life sciences client  is seeking a Medical Systems Analytics & Reporting Specialist to support a Medical Education and Communications function within a leading life sciences organization. This role is responsible for optimizing systems, improving data workflows, and delivering analytics that drive strategic decision-making across the organization.

The ideal candidate is highly analytical, process-driven, and comfortable operating at the intersection of business operations and technical systems. This role serves as a key partner to cross-functional stakeholders, leading system improvements, advancing automation initiatives, and providing clear, actionable insights through reporting and data analysis. Success in this role requires strong stakeholder management, data integrity oversight, and the ability to translate complex data into meaningful business outcomes.

The Basics

  • Duration: 6 months
  • Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday
  • Schedule: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Location: Hybrid, based in San Francisco, CA
  • Onsite Requirements: 3 days onsite, 2 days remote

Top 3 Required Qualifications

  1. 5 years of experience in systems administration, business analytics, reporting, or a related function within healthcare, life sciences, or regulated environments
  2. Advanced experience with CRM platforms and analytics tools, including Salesforce, Tableau, Qlik, or similar reporting systems
  3. Strong ability to translate complex data into clear insights and actionable recommendations for both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Other Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of Medical Affairs, Medical Education, or healthcare-related business functions preferred
  • Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and lead cross-functional initiatives
  • Experience designing and implementing automated reporting solutions and workflows
  • Exceptional attention to detail and focus on data accuracy and integrity
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts in a clear and accessible way
  • Ability to operate independently and navigate ambiguity in evolving environments
  • Experience developing and maintaining standard operating procedures and documentation
  • Strong problem-solving, investigative, and analytical capabilities
  • Customer-focused mindset with strong collaboration and influencing skills

Key Responsibilities

1. System and Platform Management and Optimization

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for business partners, translating business requirements into system and platform solutions
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to understand data and system needs and deliver scalable, user-friendly solutions
  • Lead system transitions, upgrades, and platform improvements, ensuring smooth adoption and data continuity
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce manual processes
  • Provide end-user training on system usage, access, and best practices

2. Analytics and Reporting

  • Analyze and validate portfolio trends to support strategic decision-making across Medical Education and Communications
  • Design, build, and maintain dashboards and reporting frameworks using BI tools
  • Deliver both recurring and ad-hoc reports that provide actionable insights to stakeholders and leadership
  • Monitor key performance metrics and identify trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Evaluate and implement new analytics tools and methodologies to improve reporting capabilities

3. Process, Data Quality, and Compliance

  • Conduct regular audits to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and compliance with internal standards
  • Develop and maintain documentation including system workflows, data-entry guidelines, and standard operating procedures
  • Provide ongoing system support to improve adoption and ensure high-quality data management
  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure data governance and compliance requirements are consistently met

In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data, including medical data. This position is onsite and requires you to work closely with other individuals in a collaborative team environment. Additionally, drug products may be present in the workplace.
