Job Overview
The Bench Operator is responsible for supporting the production process in a blow molding manufacturing environment. This role involves inspecting, trimming, finishing, assembling, and packaging blow-molded products to ensure they meet quality standards and production requirements. The position requires attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
Duties
- Inspect blow-molded parts for defects such as flash, short shots, discoloration, or deformities
- Trim excess plastic, clean, and finish parts using hand tools, or trimming equipment
- Perform secondary assembly tasks (installing caps, inserts, labels, or fittings as required)
- Conduct basic quality checks to ensure products meet specifications
- Package finished products according to work orders and shipping requirements
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation following safety standards
- Report defective products, machine issues, or quality concerns to supervisors
- Follow all company safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous blow molding experience is a plus
- Ability to use hand tools safely and effectively
- Strong attention to detail and quality standards
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift moderate weights (typically up to 50 lbs)
