Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development for toddlers
- Create a warm, welcoming classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning through play
- Supervise and engage with children during daily activities, including circle time, outdoor play, arts and crafts, and nap time
- Monitor each child's progress and communicate regularly with parents or guardians about developmental milestones and concerns
- Ensure health and safety standards are maintained at all times, including proper hygiene practices and emergency procedures
- Manage classroom behavior through positive reinforcement strategies and behavior management techniques
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan activities that support inclusive learning environments, especially for children with special needs or disabilities
Skills
- Demonstrated experience working with children in a daycare, preschool, or early childhood education setting
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and age-specific teaching strategies for toddlers
- Certification in first aid and CPR to ensure safety during emergencies
- Experience working with children with disabilities or special education needs is highly desirable
- Strong classroom management skills to foster a respectful and engaging learning atmosphere
- Ability to communicate effectively with young children, parents, and team members
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques and caregiving best practices for early learners
