Responsibilities
- Supervise children during a variety of hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Lead engaging activities that promote social skills, teamwork, and personal development
- Manage classroom behavior using effective behavior management strategies to maintain a positive environment
- Assist with homework help, tutoring, or instructional support as needed
- Follow established first aid protocols and be prepared to respond promptly to medical emergencies using CPR and AED techniques
- Facilitate youth group activities, outdoor games, arts and crafts, or theatrical performances to enrich the program experience
- Support special education needs by adapting activities and providing individualized attention when necessary
- Maintain clear communication with parents, staff, and program coordinators about student progress and concerns
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in educational, childcare, camp, or youth program settings is highly preferred
- Demonstrated classroom management skills and the ability to foster a respectful learning environment
- Knowledge of first aid procedures, CPR certification, AED operation, and first aid protocols is required
- Experience working with children with special needs or in early childhood education is advantageous
- Background in sports coaching, theater arts, babysitting, or youth development programs will be considered a plus
- Proven ability to lead youth activities safely outdoors or in active settings
- Strong team leadership skills with the capacity to collaborate effectively with colleagues and program staff
