Summary
Creation Acres is seeking a compassionate, energetic, and collaborative Group Leader to support our directors and engage students in our outdoor homeschool hybrid program. This role involves guiding and supervising children ages 5–15, who are organized into smaller age-based groups, while fostering meaningful learning experiences, positive social interactions, and a love for God’s creation.
The ideal candidate is passionate about child development, enjoys working outdoors, embraces student-centered learning, and demonstrates a commitment to Creation Acres’ Christian mission and values.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a small group of students during outdoor program activities.
- Support directors in facilitating engaging, hands-on learning experiences and enrichment activities.
- Foster a safe and positive environment where students can develop confidence, leadership, and social skills.
- Encourage teamwork, problem-solving, creativity, and respect among students.
- Model and reinforce Christian values through daily interactions and mentorship.
- Assist with group transitions, outdoor games, nature-based learning activities, and special projects.
- Maintain awareness of student needs and communicate observations to program directors.
- Help ensure student safety and adherence to program expectations.
- Support setup, organization, and cleanup of materials and activity spaces.
- Communicate professionally and positively with students, families, and staff.
- Participate in team meetings, training opportunities, and program planning as needed.
Schedule
- 12-14 hours per week
- Tuesday and Thursday 8:30am - 2:00pm
- Possible option of adding Fridays
Qualifications
- Experience working with children in an educational, recreational, childcare, camp, or youth ministry setting
- Passion for mentoring and supporting children in their academic, social, emotional, and spiritual growth
- Comfortable leading and engaging groups of children in outdoor environments
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Patient, dependable, flexible, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to maintain a calm, positive presence while managing groups of students
- Alignment with the mission, values, and Christian foundation of Creation Acres
- High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
- Ability to actively participate in outdoor activities and supervise students in various weather conditions
