Job Description
Creating Connections Therapy is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Biller & Insurance Credentialer to join our behavioral health team on a part-time basis. This dual-role position is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely submission of insurance claims and maintaining up-to-date provider credentialing across all payer networks. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of mental health billing codes, payer requirements, and credentialing processes.
Key Responsibilities
Support Creating Connections’ head biller in the following:
- Submitting accurate claims to commercial insurance carriers and Medicaid for behavioral health services
- Following up on unpaid, denied, or rejected claims and manage appeals
- Posting payments and adjustments to patient accounts
- Monitoring accounts receivable and identify trends in denials or underpayments
- Communicating with patients regarding balances, billing questions, and payment plans
- Ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and payer-specific billing guidelines
- Staying current on CPT and modifier codes relevant to mental health services
Insurance Credentialing
- Initiate, complete, and track provider credentialing and re-credentialing applications with insurance panels
- Maintain accurate records of provider licensure, certifications, and payer enrollment status
- Monitor credentialing expiration dates and proactively manage renewals
- Liaise with insurance companies, CAQH, and state Medicaid agencies
- Update provider information across payer portals as needed
- Assist providers with CAQH profile setup and maintenance
Qualifications
- 2 years of medical billing experience preferred
- Experience with insurance credentialing processes and payer enrollment
- Knowledge of commercial insurance and Medicaid billing requirements
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Schedule & Compensation
- Part-time: hours per week / flexible scheduling available
- Hourly rate: Commensurate with experience
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
