What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanical Inspector (Part-Time/On-Call) position at Creare?
A Mechanical Inspector is required to provide first-article inspection of high-precision machined hardware for R&D projects. Inspections may range from raw materials to completed subassemblies. Responsibilities include inspecting and documenting as-built dimensions for machined hardware (tight tolerances, open setups), conducting incoming inspections of parts and materials from outside vendors, and offering suggestions for process improvement.
Previous inspection training and experience are essential to fulfill these duties. Candidates must have knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, manual dexterity to handle small parts, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. Experience with Zeiss Contura CMM using Calypso Software is preferred.
This is an on-call position requiring 30 to 60 hours per month. The schedule will be determined based on the selected candidate. Availability for part-time evening work is highly desirable.
Compensation: $27 to $38 per hour, depending on skills and experience.
