Responsibilities
- Assist the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations, including sales, staffing, and inventory control.
- Lead and motivate team members through effective training, coaching, and performance management to foster a high-energy sales environment.
- Manage employee orientation, interviewing, recruiting efforts, and scheduling to ensure optimal staffing levels.
- Handle customer inquiries with professionalism using excellent phone etiquette and communication skills.
- Oversee POS (Point of Sale) systems for accurate cashiering, pricing adjustments, and cash handling procedures.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through stock management, merchandising, stocking, and inventory control practices.
- Support marketing initiatives and promotional activities to boost sales and store visibility.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, store policies, and procedures including payroll processing, bookkeeping, and administrative tasks.
- Assist with budgeting, sales management, and retail math to meet or exceed sales targets.
- Supervise shift management duties such as opening/closing procedures and ensuring smooth store operations.
Experience
- Proven experience in retail management or assistant manager roles with a strong background in supervising teams.
- Demonstrated skills in negotiation, customer service excellence, and employee training & development.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems, POS technology, merchandising techniques, and retail math principles.
- Experience in recruiting, interviewing candidates, payroll processing, bookkeeping, and cash handling is highly desirable.
- Multilingual or bilingual abilities are a plus to better serve diverse customer bases.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively while managing multiple responsibilities.
- Previous experience in grocery stores or similar retail environments is advantageous but not mandatory.
