What are the responsibilities and job description for the Loan Servicing Specialist position at CRE Recruiting?
Our client, a highly entrepreneurial and growing private lender expanding in Orange County seeks a diligent Loan Servicing Specialist to support the company’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in a 50/50 blended role comprised of:
1. The administrative and financial tasks necessary for successfully servicing their diverse CRE & residential loan portfolios – in-house and 3rd party
2. Varied Analyst-level duties related to FP&A, individual loan & portfolio underwriting analysis, systems/platform management improvement, and special projects
The ideal candidate has 3 years’ experience in loan servicing, who has hit their ceiling in their current role as a loan servicer, and wants to learn more about the full-spectrum of finance in CRE. It’s a rare opportunity to be mentored by a CFO, learn and diversify your skillset, and grow along with the company in this newly-created role.
This role is based out of the company’s beautiful conveniently located office located in Costa Mesa, with a hybrid schedule of Monday, Tuesday, & Thursday in-house from 9am-5pm, and Wednesday/Friday worked remotely.
A day in the life of a successful Loan Servicing Specialist includes, but is not limited to:
- Payment Processing: Accurately recording all payments, including complex payoffs
- Funding & Draws: Managing loan fundings and draws with precision and compliance
- Statement & Fees: Preparing & distributing monthly statements for principal, interest, and fees
- Wire Verification: Confirming & inputting borrower account details securely
- Transaction Maintenance: Reconciling servicing transactions with the General Ledger daily
- Inbox Management: Monitoring servicing inbox activity and responding promptly to requests
- Customer Support: Delivering responsive, professional support to borrowers & partners
- Project Support: Contributing to compliance, reporting, and data initiatives
- Team Collaboration: Partnering with Accounting, Finance, and Sales to support operations
Requirements
The ideal Loan Servicing Specialist candidate possesses the following skills & experience:
- Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree preferred; 3 years of loan servicing experience required
- Technical Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office; familiar with servicing and document imaging systems
- Communication: Clear and professional verbal and written skills
- Organization & Detail: Strong multitasking, problem-solving, and accuracy
- Work Style: Adaptable, proactive, and able to build strong internal and external relationships
Salary : $75 - $105
