SUSHI CHEF

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Japanese cuisine, particularly in preparing high-quality sushi, and possess a strong understanding of food safety and kitchen operations. Duties

• Prepare and craft a variety of sushi dishes with precision and artistry, adhering to traditional techniques and presentation standards
• Plan and develop sushi menus that align with restaurant themes and customer preferences
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations
• Handle all aspects of food preparation including slicing, rolling, and assembling sushi ingredients
• Manage inventory levels for sushi ingredients, ensuring freshness and proper storage
• Assist in kitchen operations during busy periods, supporting other culinary staff as needed
• Ensure consistent quality and presentation of all sushi dishes served to guests
• Uphold high standards of food handling, sanitation, and safety protocols at all times

Requirements

• Proven experience in sushi preparation and Japanese cuisine, with a strong portfolio demonstrating craftsmanship
• Background in fine dining or high-end restaurant environments preferred
• Knowledge of menu planning, food industry standards, and culinary techniques specific to sushi making
• Excellent knife skills and proficiency in food preparation and cooking methods
• Strong understanding of food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures
• Experience with dietary department practices or dietary aide experience is a plus
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Culinary experience in the food service or catering industry preferred
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Pay: $21.00 - $22.00 per hour
