Role Description
This is a one-time, project-based engagement, with the opportunity to grow into a full-time position based on performance, collaboration, and future project needs.
Editor will be responsible for shaping the visual and narrative flow of a short film, working closely with producers and directors to execute a strong creative vision. Responsibilities include managing post-production workflows, editing picture and sound, and delivering a polished final cut that meets professional and storytelling standards. This role requires a strong visual storytelling sensibility, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate creatively under deadlines.
This is a freelance role with flexible working arrangements, with hybrid collaboration as needed.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Video Production and Post-Production techniques
- Expertise in Film Editing, with an eye for detail and storytelling
- Experience as a film colorist, including color grading
- Advanced skills in professional editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or equivalent)
- Strong visual storytelling instincts, including pacing, rhythm, and emotional continuity
- Experience with sound editing and finishing for short-form narrative projects
- Ability to collaborate closely with directors and producers and incorporate creative feedback
- Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with new media platforms and contemporary storytelling trends
- Degree in film editing, media production, communications, or a related field is preferred but not required
