Job Summary
Our client is seeking a versatile Pharmacy Technician for a full-time, Monday–Friday position in the Metro Detroit area. This role focuses primarily on pharmacy "front-end" processing—including patient intake and insurance authorizations—while also providing support in sterile IV compounding. It is an ideal fit for a technician who enjoys balancing clinical cleanroom work with essential administrative coordination in a home infusion setting.
Key Responsibilities: Manage new patient referrals, verify medical/pharmacy insurance benefits, and coordinate prior authorizations. Prepare sterile IV admixtures (TPN, antibiotics, etc.) in a cleanroom environment following USP / guidelines. Schedule medication deliveries and coordinate with nursing staff to ensure a seamless start of care. Maintain batch records, monitor compounding supplies, and ensure all records meet regulatory standards. Assist the pharmacist with labeling, packaging, and general pharmacy operations.
Qualifications: Active Pharmacy Technician license in the State of Michigan (Required). National CPhT required (or obtained within 6 months of hire). 2 years of pharmacy technician experience. 1 year of sterile compounding experience (Hospital or Infusion setting). Strong familiarity with insurance verification or pharmacy intake is highly preferred.
