Mortgage Loan Officer - Remote (Greater Grand Rapids Area)
Base: $32k base $200 extra a week for the first 3 months, and unlimited commission opportunity

About The Role
The Mortgage Loan Officer is a fully outside sales role responsible for originating residential first mortgages through self-generated business and external referral networks. This position is ideal for a driven, entrepreneurial professional who thrives in a commission-based environment and is motivated by building their own pipeline.
What You’ll Do
- Build and maintain a strong self-generated referral network to drive mortgage originations
- Deliver a high-quality member experience throughout the entire mortgage process
- Consult with clients to understand financial goals and recommend appropriate lending solutions Interview applicants and assess financial eligibility for loan approval
- Guide members through available loan products, including risks and benefits
- Complete mortgage applications across multiple channels (online, phone, in-person)
- Consistently meet or exceed monthly loan production and deposit goals
- Collaborate with internal teams and leadership to support business objectives
What You Bring
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3 years of residential mortgage lending experience
- Ability to obtain NMLS registration Strong knowledge of mortgage products, programs, and lending practices
- Proven ability to self-source leads and build referral partnerships
- Experience working in a sales-driven, goal-oriented environment
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills
- Excellent organization, follow-up, and time management abilities
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations and meet deadlines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and CRM/database systems
- Demonstrated success meeting or exceeding sales targets
Nice to Have
- Experience with Encompass Background in equity loans or lines of credit
- Experience gathering deposits
- Familiarity with specialty loan products (FHA, VA, construction, etc.)
- Strong track record of self-generated loan origination
