This hands-on leadership role is responsible for overseeing financial reporting, month-end close, budgeting, inventory accounting, compliance, financial controls, and cross-functional business support. What You'll Do Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process
- Prepare financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses
- Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and rolling financial planning
- Partner with leadership to provide financial insights and strategic recommendations
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting accuracy, financial visibility, and operational efficiency
- Ensure timely and accurate customer invoicing
- Monitor revenue recognition and supporting documentation
- Oversee accounts receivable, collections, and aging reports
- Support sales reporting and profitability analysis
- Oversee accounts payable processes and purchasing controls
- Manage inventory accounting, reconciliations, and cost accounting activities
- Support production accounting and project accounting initiatives
- Monitor inventory accuracy, standard costing, and valuation
- Ensure accurate work-in-progress (WIP) reporting
- Coordinate payroll processing with third-party payroll providers
- Manage payroll reconciliations and employee benefit reporting
- Oversee sales tax compliance and required filings
- Support annual tax preparation with external accounting partners
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, accounting standards, and internal control requirements
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Manage accruals, reserves, and accounting estimates
- Maintain organized financial records and audit-ready documentation
- Develop and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Drive continuous improvement across accounting processes and financial operations
- Evaluate current accounting workflows and identify process improvement opportunities
- Standardize the month-end close process
- Develop reconciliation templates for key balance sheet accounts
- Improve financial reporting and management visibility
- Strengthen inventory, accounts receivable, and accounts payable controls
- Review payroll and tax compliance procedures
- Deliver accurate, timely, and actionable management reporting
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- 5 years of progressive accounting or finance experience with responsibility for month-end close
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting principles
- Experience with inventory accounting, cost accounting, and internal controls
- Experience working within an ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central preferred)
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to partner effectively with Finance, Operations, Sales, and Executive Leadership
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to process accuracy and continuous improvement
- CPA or CMA certification
- Manufacturing, distribution, or industrial accounting experience
- Inventory and cost accounting expertise
- Project accounting experience
- ERP implementation or process optimization experience
- Payroll administration and multi-state sales tax compliance experience
- Accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
- Reliable financial reporting with meaningful business insights
- Strong internal controls and ongoing regulatory compliance
