We are looking for a seasoned and energetic Vice President of Professional Services Operations to lead the operational engine that powers our client delivery. Reporting to the COO, you'll be a key member of our leadership team - someone who thrives at the intersection of people, process, and performance, and whose impact will be visible across every part of the business.


You will drive operational excellence across delivery, resourcing, and financial management, ensuring our teams consistently deliver outstanding client outcomes - efficiently and profitably.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - WHAT YOU'LL DO

Operational Strategy & Execution
  • Partner with the COO to define and execute FDI's operational strategy and key processes in support of business objectives and growth targets.
  • Establish, monitor, and report on KPIs across all operational functions, using data to drive accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Build and evolve the systems, processes, and infrastructure that enable scalable, high-quality service delivery.

Delivery Excellence & Resource Management
  • Oversee engagement delivery, ensuring projects are appropriately staffed, on schedule, within scope and budget, and resulting in high satisfaction for both clients and delivery teams.
  • Lead resource planning and utilization management, making staffing decisions that balance business performance with employee development and satisfaction.
  • Partner with Sales and Client Engagement Managers to resolve escalations and clear operational barriers that slow delivery.

Financial Operations

  • Manage the professional services financials, including revenue, utilization, and average bill rate targets.
  • Collaborate with the COO on annual forecasting and capacity planning.
  • Continuously identify and execute initiatives that improve profitability without compromising delivery quality.


People, Process & Growth
  • Build and lead a high-performing team, partnering with leadership to attract, develop, and retain top consulting talent - including a network of affiliate contractors - within a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure FDI's tools, methodologies, and playbooks are consistently applied and continuously refined to support scalable, efficient delivery.
  • Partner with Sales throughout the growth cycle - from developing account strategies to reviewing contracts and SOWs, serving as the operational check that ensures deals are feasible, well-staffed, and free of risk before commitments are made.

Client & Stakeholder Experience

  • Build trusted, executive-level client relationships and foster a culture of trusted advisor engagement at all levels of the client organization.
  • Ensure client satisfaction is consistently monitored and that the team takes meaningful action on feedback.
  • Collaborate with Sales to ensure seamless handoffs from sale to delivery and smooth client onboarding.

SKILLS - WHAT YOU'LL BRING
  • 10 years of leadership experience in management consulting professional services, with at least 5 years in an operations leadership role.
  • Demonstrated success leading operations within a large consultancy with the ability to scale.
  • Strong financial acumen with proven experience owning key operational and financial metrics to drive decisions that improve business performance and health.
  • Proven ability to build credibility and lasting relationships with executive stakeholders - both internal and client-facing.
  • Deep expertise in resource management, utilization optimization, and workforce planning.
  • Practical experience scoping and structuring client contracts and SOWs.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to lead and influence across all levels of an organization.
  • Experience with Professional Services Automation (PSA) platforms such as Kimble/Kantata.
  • Deep familiarity with Agile and other delivery methodologies.

Base pay salary range based on experience and budget is $125k
