Engineering Field Technician – Surface Transportation

Responsibilities for Field Technician work will include working on a range of civil engineering related projects, and supporting our Project Managers and Civil Engineers, across our client base in Springfield, Missouri, to include:
- Perform field survey tasks on a variety of projects working directly with all survey personnel
- Provide periodic support to the design teams using computer-aided software for civil design projects including public infrastructure, water, sewer and drainage systems, site development and utility establishment
- Provide periodic construction observation and documentation on a variety of civil engineering projects for compliance with contract documents
Minimum qualifications:
- High school degree/GED plus equivalent fieldwork experience
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Must have a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
- Ability to routinely lift 25 lbs.
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to work and maneuver equipment around active construction sites
- Position will require travel to job sites and overnight travel on occasion
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for sponsorship
- For specific clients, candidates must be able to pass a drug alcohol screen
Preferred qualifications:
- Associate’s or two-year technical degree in Engineering Technology or related subject matter
- 2 years of experience preferred
- Experience with MS Office suite
- Survey field experience or similar type of fieldwork experience
- AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit or Bentley MicroStation experience
- Previous engineering / construction / infrastructure experience
