Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supervise and monitor detainees to ensure compliance with facility rules, regulations, and safety procedures.
  • Conduct routine security checks and inspections throughout the detention facility.
  • Monitor inmate activity through direct observation and CCTV surveillance systems.
  • Maintain the safety and security of inmates, staff, and visitors at all times.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to emergencies, disturbances, and security incidents.
  • Utilize conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques to manage challenging situations effectively.
  • Conduct inmate searches, facility inspections, and contraband detection activities.
  • Prepare accurate and detailed reports documenting incidents, observations, and daily activities.
  • Assist with inmate intake, booking, classification, transportation, and release procedures as required.
  • Administer first aid and CPR when necessary and coordinate with medical personnel and emergency responders.
  • Support investigations and ensure compliance with departmental policies, procedures, and legal requirements.

  • The ability to follow policies, procedures, and safety protocols consistently.
  • Experience in corrections, detention operations, law enforcement, security, military service, or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • First Aid and CPR certification is preferred, or the potential to obtain certification upon hire.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

Pay: $41,080.00 - $48,880.00 per year
