What are the responsibilities and job description for the Prevention Specialist position at Crawford County Drug & Alcohol Executive Commission?
CCDAEC is seeking candidates for the Prevention Specialist position. This is a full time 40/hour position with some evening and weekend responsibilities. During the school year a priority for this position is to do screenings for the Student Assistance Program (SAP). Other work in the prevention department entails an emphasis on educating the community about substance use disorder, including availability of case management, treatment, and recovery services. Services address all age groups and are delivered through multiple channels, including at community events, schools, and community facilities. Specifically during the summer, priorities would include providing alternative activities throughout the county; including the parks programs, libraries, community agencies, event tabling at festivals and fairs, etc.
PREFERENCE: Experience with the Student Assistance Program (SAP). MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING: One year as a Drug and Alcohol Prevention Specialist Trainee; or must have a Bachelor’s degree in Health Education, Education in the Social or Behavioral Sciences or related field and one-year experience in drug and alcohol prevention work; or any equivalent combination of experience and training.
