Crawford Care Center is seeking an experienced and people-focused Human Resources Director to lead our Human Resources department and support a positive, professional, and engaged workplace.
The HR Director will oversee all aspects of human resources operations, including recruitment and retention, employee relations, onboarding, performance management, compliance, benefits, personnel records, and employee engagement. This position will work closely with facility leadership and department managers to ensure HR practices support both our employees and the quality of care provided to our residents.
Key Responsibilities
Direct and oversee all Human Resources functions and activities within the facility
Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract qualified healthcare professionals and support staff
Manage the full hiring process, including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, offers, and onboarding
Partner with department managers and leadership to identify staffing needs and recruitment priorities
Oversee new-hire orientation and ensure employees complete all required onboarding documentation
Maintain accurate and confidential personnel files and HR records
Ensure employee records, licenses, certifications, background checks, and required documentation remain current
Monitor and support compliance with applicable federal and Pennsylvania employment laws, regulations, and facility policies
Ensure compliance with applicable healthcare and long-term care employment requirements
Develop and maintain HR policies and procedures in collaboration with facility leadership
Manage employee relations matters, including workplace concerns, investigations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions
Advise leadership and department managers on employee performance, attendance, disciplinary matters, and HR policies
Oversee employee performance evaluations and related documentation
Administer and communicate employee benefits and assist employees with benefit-related questions
Oversee attendance and leave-related processes
Develop and implement employee retention and engagement initiatives
Coordinate employee recognition and appreciation programs
Identify opportunities to improve employee satisfaction, morale, and workplace culture
Monitor turnover and recruitment metrics and provide HR reports to facility leadership
Maintain knowledge of current HR laws, regulations, and best practices
Ensure appropriate documentation and confidentiality of sensitive employee information
Participate in leadership meetings and contribute to facility-wide planning and decision-making
Support staff education, training, and professional development initiatives
Work collaboratively with department leaders to promote teamwork and a positive work environment
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by facility leadership
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred
Previous Human Resources management or leadership experience required
Experience in a skilled nursing, long-term care, rehabilitation, or healthcare setting strongly preferred
Working knowledge of employment laws, HR practices, and compliance requirements
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HR-related software and systems
Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with facility leadership and staff
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
