Job Description
Job Title: Project Manager - Munis ERP Implementation (Business/Human Resources)
Reports to: Chief Finance Officer
Terms of Employment: (Limited - Term of 18-24 Months)

Position Summary
The Project Manager – Munis ERP Implementation will lead the planning, coordination, and execution of the school district’s conversion to and implementation of the Tyler Technologies Munis Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. This limited-term position will work within the Business Services Department and collaborate with Information Technology, Human Resources, Payroll, Purchasing, and additional departments to ensure a successful implementation that supports district operations, financial accountability, and compliance with state and federal requirements.
The Project Manager will serve as the primary liaison between the district and Tyler Technologies, overseeing project timelines, data conversion, testing, training coordination, and post-implementation stabilization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as the district’s project lead for the Munis ERP conversion and implementation from project initiation through go-live and stabilization.
- Develop, maintain, and monitor the project plan, including scope, timelines, milestones, risks, and deliverables.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams within Business Services, Information Technology, Human Resources, Payroll, Purchasing, and other departments impacted by the Munis implementation.
- Act as the primary point of contact with Tyler Technologies and any third-party implementation partners.
- Oversee data migration, system configuration, testing, and validation to ensure data integrity and system accuracy.
- Translate school finance, accounting, payroll, and procurement requirements into Munis system design and configuration.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit standards, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations governing public school finance.
- Monitor project budget, identify risks and issues, and develop mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate change management, communication, and end-user training efforts to support staff readiness and system adoption.
- Provide project status updates and reports to senior leadership.
- Document processes, system configurations, and project decisions to support continuity, audit requirements, and long-term system maintenance.
- Support post-implementation review, issue resolution, and system optimization during the stabilization period.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in accounting, finance, project management, or ERP system implementation, preferably within a public school district or governmental environment.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex, cross-functional projects.
- Working knowledge of public-sector accounting, budgeting, and internal controls.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct experience with Tyler Technologies ERP system, including financials, payroll, or human capital modules.
- Experience leading or supporting ERP implementations in a K–12 public school district.
- Familiarity with state reporting requirements and public school audit processes.
Work Environment and Term
- This is a limited-term position for approximately 18–24 months, contingent upon project completion.
- Extended hours may be required during key implementation phases such as testing, conversion, and go-live.
