: This position helps to provide patient care to the Craven County Health Department Maternity clients.
: Regular and High-Risk Maternity Clinics
Update screening questions, prepare patient for provider, address and report any problems to the Physician and/or Advanced Practice Provider, review physician instructions with patient, administer injections, perform catheterizations as ordered, record lab work/ultrasound results in electronic medical record appropriately, communicate/coordinate with Social Worker Case Manager and Nutritionist regarding patient needs; contact patients by phone with appointment information as needed.
In the event of a disaster will be assigned to a Red Cross Shelter to function as a Health Care Professional. Other related duties as assigned by Supervisor, Nursing Director or Health Director.
: Graduation from a state accredited program of practical nurse education and one year of practical nurse experience, which includes advanced or in-service training in the area to which assigned; or graduation from a state accredited program of practical nurse education including a pharmacology course, or completion of an approved pharmacology course upon graduation, which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed for the administration of medications required by the work setting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Maternity Experience Preferred.
Special Requirements
Licensed to practice as a practice nurse in North Carolina by the NC Board of Nursing.
G.S. 153A-94.2(b) Subject to SBI criminal history record check prior to hire.
