We are seeking a full-time lead Barista, with the ability to work in a fast-paced café. Attention to detail, organization and cleanliness are all needed from our lead Baristas. You must be self motivated, have strong communication skills, and have the ability to produce quality coffee and drinks in this busy Café.

All team members earn $3-6 (per hour!) from our staff appreciation pool

Basic Qualifications

• Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.
• Available to work flexible hours that may include early mornings, weekends, and holidays
• Meet store operating policies and standards, including providing quality beverages and food products, cash handling and store safety and security
• Engage with and understand our customers, including discovering and responding to customer needs through clear and pleasant communication
• Prepare food and beverages to our recipes or customized for customers, including recipe changes such as temperature, quantity of ingredients or substituted ingredients
• Available to perform many different tasks within the store during each shift
• Ability to stand and be on your feet for extended periods of time

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ability to learn quickly
• Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and request clarification when needed
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Ability to build relationships
• Ability to lift, push/pull, carry and/or move up to 50 pounds up and down stairs. For example, you’ll be handling bags of coffee beans, cold brew kegs, crates of milk, and trash bags/bins
• Ability to smell and taste coffee and food, helping ensure quality control for each cup and food item

What you’ll be doing

• Greet guests when they come in and ensure that their orders are processed accurately and efficiently.
• Ordering and inventory
• Learn our drink menu and prepare and serve drinks to our standards
• Ensure the café is clean, stocked, and that guests have everything they need.
• Work with fellow team members to ensure that shift tasks are delegated and completed
• Handle guest concerns and questions thoroughly and communicate with managers
• Prepare the café for openings and close the café so it is ready for the next day
• Support your team in keeping the café running smoothly and beautifully - these tasks may vary but can include washing dishes, sweeping, dusting, mopping, cleaning and organizing, and taking out trash.
• Expedite and serve delicious pastry’s and Breakfast sandwiches created by our talented kitchen and baking team
• Stay knowledgeable about our current and seasonal coffee, pastry and sandwich offerings.

Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
