We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Bakery Associate to join our team. Responsibilities
- Prepare baked goods according to recipes and quality standards, including mixing, baking, and decorating
- Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for sales transactions
- Assist customers with selections, answer questions about products, and provide exceptional customer service
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and basic math calculations
- Upsell products and promote specials to increase sales opportunities
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the bakery area, including food handling and sanitation procedures
- Restock display cases, organize shelves, and ensure product freshness
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as slicing, packaging, and labeling baked goods
- Support overall store operations including bussing tables or cleaning as needed in the café or retail space
- Follow food safety guidelines and ensure compliance with health regulations
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service, bakery, café, or retail environment preferred
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and food safety standards
- Experience with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with customers
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting
- Basic math skills for cash handling and retail math calculations
- Ability to work well in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities
- Food handling certification or willingness to obtain certification preferred
- Previous experience in quick service & fast food restaurants or grocery stores is advantageous
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights as needed
