What are the responsibilities and job description for the Junior Financial Analyst position at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP?
The Junior Financial Analyst prepares and delivers reporting and analytic support for the Financial Planning & Analysis group.
- Responsible for various weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual productivity reports and variance analyses for executive management team members;
- Runs SQL queries and Elite reports to compile data and produce reporting, including:
- Business Development statistics for pitch books, the Firm website and related materials;
- Lawyer and Legal Assistant hours reports;
- Tracking and analysis of client alternative fee arrangements;
- Data requests from clients related to diversity and inclusion;
- Pro Bono reporting;
- Updates and maintains various databases utilized by other departments to ensure data accuracy and consistency;
- Collaborates with the IT department to support the implementation and ongoing use of the Partner Dashboard and business intelligence tools;
- Provides support on various special projects, as assigned;
- Handles ad hoc requests, as required; and
- Performs other duties, as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or math required.
- 2-3 years related work experience. Law firm experience a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with partners and staff at all levels;
- Ability to deal discreetly with confidential information;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, with the ability to organize, analyze and present data accurately;
- Working knowledge of SQL, SQL Server Management Studio and reporting tools;
- Knowledge of Elite 3E preferred;
- Ability to analyze and interpret data to support reporting needs for partners and staff;
- Strong organizational, time-management and problem-solving skills;
- Must have strong attention to detail;
- Ability to work well under pressure, coordinate several activities at once and meet strict deadlines; and
- Availability to work additional hours, as needed.
Salary : $75,000 - $90,000
