A day in the life as a Floor Manager...
- Manages effective labor plans to ensure proper staffing levels according to budgets for overtime, full-time and temporary labor
- Ensures productivity measurement standards are met
- Identifies and resolves critical distribution issues for inbound and outbound processes
- Implements improvements for operational flows and reassigns staff as necessary
- Creates an environment that fosters open and positive team communication
- Facilitates team meetings
- Participates in the interviewing and hiring process for distribution center associates
- Responsible for ensuring staff are properly trained
- Supports all efforts and initiatives across the operation
- Performs safety observations in conjunction with job observations to coach and counsel associates on proper safety procedures
- Leads investigations for safety incidents and injuries by performing root cause analysis to remove future potential safety hazards
- Plays an active role in the participation of all safety programs and acts as a role model for all associates.
- Oversees and implements company and OSHA guidelines and programs to contribute to a safe working environment for all associates
- Serves a backup for other floor managers as necessary
- Participates in ongoing training regarding technology upgrades and new systems applicable to the position
