QUALIFICATIONS:
- Massachusetts teacher certified in elementary education, grades 1 – 6
- Knowledge of MA Curriculum frameworks, curriculum, instruction, and assessment
- Ability to work with diverse population
- Knowledge of inclusive instruction and response to intervention helpful
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for effective planning and assessment of curriculum and instruction.
- Establishes and (as necessary) adjusts instructional goals and objectives, to reflect district/school goals, curriculum policies, and the knowledge, skills, progress, and needs of one’s students.
- Designs lessons that provide opportunities for problem-solving, creativity, and communication skills in relation to authentic, real world problems.
- Establishes and maintains standards for social and emotional learning consistent with CASEL standards.
- Commits to on-going professional development in content area and pedagogy.
- Plans learning activities to address individual differences among students.
- Develops, administers, and evaluates quality formative and summative assessments that reflect a balance of content knowledge and problem-solving skills.
- Monitors and evaluates students’ progress in relation to district/school curriculum policies and other planned goals and objectives.
- Encourages, secures and maintains the involvement of families and other community members in support of instruction.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Effectively collaborate with department and grade level teachers.
- Knowledge of equitable teaching and learning resources and practices.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Abide by state statutes, school board policies and regulations.
- Attend meetings and performs duties as assigned by administrators or supervisors.
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation.
- Serve on committees as assigned.
- Remain current on instructional practices in education. (e.g. instructional technology)

SALARY:
$50,954 to $97,434 in accordance with the teachers' contract.
