What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Operations position at Crane Worldwide Logistics?
Essential Job Functions
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for DTC fulfillment operations.
- Own P&L performance including labor budgets and productivity targets.
- Establish and manage operational KPIs.
- Lead, mentor, and develop site leadership teams.
- Partner with Sales, Engineering, Transportation, and IT teams.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee labor planning and peak season readiness.
- Optimize parcel shipping performance and costs.
- Serve as senior escalation point for client issues.
- Other duties as assigned
Other Skills & Abilities
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Experience managing high-volume e-commerce operations.
- Knowledge of WMS, labor management, and reporting tools.
- Strong financial and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Experience with parcel and last-mile operations preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Talking, hearing and using hands to operate a computer keyboard, mouse and other computer components
- Sitting for extended periods of time
- Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus
- Occasional travel (20–30%).
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field preferred.
- 10 years of progressive operations leadership experience.
- 5 years of DTC or e-commerce fulfillment leadership preferred.
- 3PL or contract logistics experience preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES
- Professional certification may be required in some areas.
