Duties
- Safely operate a variety of trucks including tractor-trailers, and other commercial vehicles for local deliveries.
- Load and unload equipment efficiently using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary.
- Drive assigned routes with precision, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations to ensure on-time deliveries.
- Inspect vehicles daily for maintenance needs and report any issues promptly to maintain optimal safety standards.
- Verify shipment accuracy and complete all required documentation for inbound and outbound freight.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate pickups and deliveries.
- Maintain a clean and organized truck interior and exterior to promote safety and professionalism.
Skills
- Proven experience in truck driving, including equipment driver roles with driving responsibilities.
- Proficiency in operating manual transmission vehicles and handling various truck configurations.
- Strong knowledge of equipment handling, load & unload procedures, and safety protocols.
- Ability to drive tractor-trailers with precision and confidence across local routes.
- Familiarity with forklift operation for loading/unloading cargo when required.
- Excellent navigation skills with the ability to plan efficient routes and adapt to changing conditions.
