Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Crane Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate
will operate mobile cranes safely and efficiently, perform rigging tasks, work closely with
rigging crews and site supervisors, and help deliver high‑quality lifting solutions on
commercial construction jobs. You will play a key role in ensuring that lifts are executed
in accordance with plans, industry best practices, and company safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Operate mobile cranes (including lattice‑boom, telescopic, truck‑mounted cranes) in
accordance with manufacturer specifications, jobsite plans and lifting diagrams.
Inspect cranes before/after each shift and report any defects or safety issues
promptly.
Perform rigging communication (hand signals, radio) and coordinate with the crew
during lifts.
Work with Supervisors/Engineers to confirm load weights, set‑up locations, outrigger
placement, crane positioning, and lift planning.
Configure crane boom, jib, counterweights, outrigger deployment as required.
Monitor crane operation during lifts, respond to changing site conditions.
Comply with all site safety procedures, company policies, OSHA regulations.
Maintain logbooks, inspections, and other documentation.
Participate in safety meetings and training.
Travel to various job sites across the Mid‑Atlantic as required.
Qualifications & Skills
Proven experience as a crane operator on commercial construction, heavy civil or related
projects.
Familiarity with operating large‑capacity mobile cranes (up to 770 tons).
Valid crane operator certification (e.g., NCCCO) and CDL driver’s license.
Strong understanding of load charts, rigging practices, and lift sequencing.
Excellent safety awareness and communication skills.
Ability to read and interpret lift plans and load charts.
Good physical condition and ability to work outdoors.
Flexibility for travel to job sites.
Mechanical aptitude is a plus.
