CNC Machinist - 2nd Shift

Location: Piqua, Ohio

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 2pm-10pm

Shift Premium: Additional $3.00/hour

Overtime available based on business needs.

Our machine shop operates in a low-volume, high-mix manufacturing environment, giving machinists the opportunity to work on a variety of parts rather than running the same production job every day. You'll play a key role in producing precision components that support critical pumping solutions used across municipal, commercial, and industrial applications.

What You'll Do

• Set up and operate CNC lathes and CNC machining centers.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and work orders.
• Select tooling and determine appropriate feeds, speeds, and cutting parameters.
• Secure workpieces using chucks, collets, fixtures, and other holding devices.
• Perform machine setups, fixture changes, and dimensional adjustments throughout the shift.
• Edit and update CNC programs in collaboration with Engineering and Programming teams.
• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments and calibrated gauges.
• Deburr and finish components as required.
• Support continuous improvement, quality, and safety initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Performing accurate machine setups with minimal downtime.
• Maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality.
• Contributing ideas for process and machining improvements.
• Working collaboratively with production, engineering, and quality teams.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of machining experience, technical training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• CNC setup and troubleshooting experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and manufacturing documentation.
• Ability to use precision measuring equipment and gauges.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
• Must possess a high school diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certification in Machining, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field.
• Experience in a low-volume, high-mix manufacturing environment.
